Keep you Covid-19 Safe

The wellbeing of our guests and staff remain the foremost priority for the Western Isles Hotel. We wish to share with you our COVID-19 plan which we kindly ask you to follow.




ARRIVAL

Contactless temperature checks will be carried out on everyone entering the building and the Conservatory Restaurant & Bar, both at breakfast and dinner. No data is kept on file.

SELF CHECK-IN

We shall e-mail you two days before you are due, to ask you to complete the check-in process in advance. All you will need to do in Reception is pick-up your key.

In reception, your room key will have been UV light sanitised before you collect it.

A UV sanitising lightbox is available for you to sanitise passport, cards, phone and any small items you wish to decontaminate. The process takes three minutes and kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses

We accept: Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and JCB.

We shall not be able to take cash payments, and can only accept payments by credit or debit card, BACS or FP (faster payment). Contactless payments are also accepted.

COMMUNICATION WITH US DURING YOUR STAY

You can call us using your in-room phone by dialling “0”, or 01688-302012 from your mobile.

The reception desk is covered from 7.00am until 9.30pm every day. Outside those hours, situated on the main reception desk, there is displayed an emergency mobile number for you to call, or please dial, (9)999 from your room.

GUEST ROOM SANITISATION PROCEDURES

In addition to our normal cleaning programme, our housekeeping team will be following a rigorous anti-bacterial point of contact surface wipe in all rooms prior to arrival.

We shall be sanitising all door and furniture handles as well as TV remote controls and any other loose items such as pens etc. with a UV wand, which eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.

As a final step, we shall carry out "fogging" sanitisation in all rooms, including bathrooms, prior to your arrival. Once complete, guest rooms will not be re-entered prior to your arrival (Fogging is a process through which we can make sure that rooms are free from bacteria, fungi and viruses: the process kills 99.9999% of them).

The technique is widely employed in hospitals throughout the world. The machine we shall be using is the STERiZAR Fog Machine Heavy Duty Dry / Wet Droplet 240v which sanitises whole rooms quickly and effectively. We shall be using STERiZAR Fogging Solution. Once the treatment is complete, the space is free of any pathogens.

HOUSEKEEPING OPT-IN

During your stay, rooms will not be serviced, and staff will not enter your room during your stay unless you specifically request a service. For normal housekeeping services please request either on arrival or previous day for next day service. You may request items such as towels, soap, shampoo which will be left outside your door for you.

Housekeepers will wear masks, sanitised gloves and will have been temperature and oximeter checked each day.

PUBLIC AREAS

All public areas will also be fogged on a regular basis, including hotel entrance, reception, breakfast room, drawing room, conservatory, staircases, corridors, public bathrooms, all back of house areas and staff accommodation.

You will find hand sanitising stations available in public areas.

During COVID-19, public areas such as the Drawing Room, Conservatory Restaurant & Bar are subject to social distancing guidelines. Groups are restricted to guests travelling together.

BREAKFAST

Served in the Conservatory Restaurant & Bar between 7:30-9:30am. With less staff than usual we are offering a reduced menu, with socially distanced seating, and well-spaced timings to ensure everyone’s safety. Please book your time on arrival.

Guests will have a choice of breakfast during their stay:

Grab & Go Breakfast Box/Grab & Stay Breakfast Box Croissant, Ham, Cheese, Yoghurt Pot, Fruit Pot, Cereals & Mini Milk carton and Daily Dose orange juice.

Ask your server for Yoghurt Pot, Fruit Pot, Cereals & Mini Milk carton and Daily Dose orange juice, toast and tea/coffee; please feel free to bring your own travel mug

Chef’s Table - Served by one of Chef’s Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs or Bacon, Sausage, (Vegan Sausage), Mushrooms, Potato Scones, and Scrambled Eggs.

DINNER

Served in the Conservatory Restaurant & Bar between 5:30-9:00pm. With less staff than usual we are offering a reduced menu, with socially distanced seating, and well-spaced timings to ensure everyone’s safety. Groups are restricted to guests travelling together. Again, please book your time on arrival.

SELF CHECK-OUT

Check out is prior to departure time on the morning you are leaving. Any balance due will be charged to the card we hold on file.

You will receive your final invoice by e-mail, so there is no need to stop by reception to check-out. Please leave your room key in your room on departure.

All card details and information are wiped from our systems following check-out.

STAFF

All our team members will wear face masks in accordance with government guidelines. They will also wear gloves where appropriate. When not wearing gloves, they will be employing high frequency hand washing.

Staff will be temperature checked each day prior to starting their shift.

Staff will be tested regularly as tests become available.

All staff will be using the selected tracing app.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

If you experience any COVID-19 symptoms during your stay, these include:

- high temperature
- new, continuous coughing

Please stay on your room. To speak to the NHS ambulance service, you can dial “9” (to dial out) followed by “111”. Please call reception if you require assistance with this. You will find doctor and other medical services information as well as details concerning UK tracing app online.

Contactless temperature checks and oximeter checks are available, please call front desk to organise a check.
